Lessons From Indianapolis

Posted by burritoincognito On February - 18 - 2009

You need to read this article about Indianapolis opening up services that the government provides to bidding by both government and private businesses if there are more than 4 companies in the the Yellow Pages that offer the same services as the government. They are proof that allowing the free market to do it’s thing without government interference actually works.  Obama could learn this lesson too.  It may be 11 years old but the principle is still valid…let the free market work and prosper. Don’t, and fail. READ IT NOW!!

Just a note – that article is eleven years old.

I write quite a lot by hand. My calendar is the old fanhiosed spiral desk calendar. I tried the computer calendar and found it was not as portable as the grab and go one on the desk. I also think better with a pen or pencil in my hand. I hand write any journaling I do (rarely). I would probably be a more prolific blogger if I wrote them out first, but what a waste of time. I have to hand write in my creative writing class. Love it! Some hate it and even though many of them are 20+years older than I am, they use the computer to capture their writing. I really do not enjoy writing letters. I never can think of something witty or worthwhile to write. My mom used to write the most boring letters ever weather reports mainly. She had many fine qualities being a writer was not one of them, and unfortunately, I inherited that deficiency. I owe my HS friend Yvonne several letters. She only writes letters and does not communicate via email. I admire her and need to answer the beautiful letters I’ve gotten from her for the past 3 Christmases. Mind you, these are not form letters, but hand written, personal letters with beautiful descriptions of her travels letters that the reader really wants to read.
