I’m a nerd…I like being a nerd. I like hip hop…and I love nerdcore hip hop. If you’re unfamiliar with the term it basically describes hip hop covering theme normally associated with nerds…video games, science, fantasy, Star Wars, etc. Today I thought I’d start a new series that focuses on nerdcore MCs. Today’s spotlight will be cast on one of the better known names in nerdcore: MC Frontalot

Biggest Waste of Money Ever

No, it’s not buying a $1 Trillion in toxic debt (although that surely qualifies)…I’m wondering why anyone would buy a million dollar fishing lure. Evidently www.macdaddysfishinglures.comthinks someone would be stupid enough to do it. Check out their description of this magnificent waste of money:

Obama Just Gave Us a Depression

We’re about to experience inflation on a scale you can’t imagine thanks to the new administration. We just borrowed $1 Trillion dollars from ourselves to pay ourselves the money…Tim Geithner’s brilliant plan to buy up the toxic debt is not a good idea to say the least. The dollar’s value just dropped to the lowest value it’s been in the world market since 1970 and gold shot up $80 an ounce immediately after they made the announcement. Meaning anyone who knows what just happened is abandoning the dollar like crazy. Watch the video of Glenn Beck explaining how we all just got screwed. I can’t imagine that any of this turns out well…when you’ve got the EU pres saying that you’re crazy and Socialists around the world telling you to stop spending so damn irresponsibly because you’re going to drive off a cliff (here, here, and here) you’d think the “pragmatic”, “smartest president ever” might rethink his stupid plans…not Obama. He’s a man on a mission, three months in office and he’s bankrupt our country and crash the world economy in record time…3 months in and already the worst president we’ve ever had…that’s a record.
Obama’s ‘Way to Hell’

I never thought I’d see this day come…the EU president Mirek Topolanek said that the Obama’s spending plan was the “way to hell”…in other words the Europeans are saying that running up deficits into the trillions of dollars in the current economy is crazy. That’s right, you heard me correctly…the biggest Socialist body in the world is telling our country that we’re spending too much money. You know you have problems when Socialists are telling you that you need to ease back on the spending. Think he will listen? My bet is that he won’t. The ‘stimulus’ and now the monsterous budget that he’s proposing are going to bankrupt the country. What happened to all the talk about the irresponsible spending of Bush? In the first 3 months of his administration Obama is attempting to quadruple the deficit over the next 10 years. Whether or not you agree with his politics, what he’s proposing should give you pause…this is terrible for our country. I just have 5 words…Out of his fucking mind. Hip-Hop in the Classroom

I just found this site called Flocabulary.com that uses hip-hop in the lesson plans. It’s a pretty interesting idea. They have 4 subjects; Language Arts, Social Studies, Math and Science. Language Arts is pretty much what you took called English…they’ve got several song samples on the site: Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and The Pit and the Pendulum and The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe to name a few. When I first saw it I thought it was another one of those terrible attempts at trying to make learning cool with bad hip-hop…this is actually pretty good. Macbeth is my favorite. In History they have world and American history. And then they have a single book for math and science. Like I said, it’s a novel idea that seems to have evolved quite a way from rapping Barney or any of the crap they had when I was a kid. Check it out.
Heat Vision and Jack

This little known pilot (intro) fro Ben Stiller’s show Heat Vision and Jack…starring Jack Black, the voice of Owen Wilson (as Heat Vision the motorcycle), and Ron Silver as himself. I wonder why it never got made. Could it have something to do with it being a Fox show?
I think this would have been my favorite show ever.
Web Designer’s Wet Dream

Over at smemon.com I found a great collection of designing tools that I just had to bring to the attention of all 17 people who read this blog. Before I found it I thought I was doing a pretty good job of designing stuff for work and at home. Little did I know I was an idiot…ok, I knew it. If you do any kind of visual design stuff there’s bound to be something in here for you. Adobe’s Kuler is the one I use the most but they’re all outstanding.

Apple Compatibility Sucks

I don’t like Apple anything…I think for the most part when people buy Apple they buy image. There are notable exceptions; music, video editing, and developement. Otherwise Apple sucks, it’s a closed, proprietary platform that tells you what you want and how you’ll get it. That being said, I love this graph I found over at Graphjam.com.
