28 years ago the aliens came to our planet and were sent to slums in “District 9″ an area in South Africa. Control of the area was given to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company who’s only interest was exploiting the aliens for their awesome weapons technology. They’ve not been able to do so because the weapons require alien DNA to work. But now one of MNUs field operatives, Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley), has stumbled into the district and contracted a virus that is mutating his DNA…hijinks ensue.

The movie is directed by Neill Blomkamp (directed only short films up til now) and produced by the one and only Peter Jackson who you might remember from his direction in The Frighteners…and some other low budget movies…this looks to be a great movie. Unlike Transformers, directed by hack extraordinaire Michael Bay, it has a story, acting, and characters that you care about. I’m really excited about this. It is set to release on 14 August 2009. I…I…I just don’t know what to say about this trailer for the upcoming film Robogeisha by Noboru Iguchi. It made me do several double, and triple, takes. I love the handicapped gun, fried shrimp, and tengu milk attacks. I mean come on, WHAT THE FUCK? I’ve seen weirder shit…A LOT weirder shit but that’s all on 4chan so I can’t post it here. I mean I won’t post it here because it’ll make most of you throw up (you’re welcome), but this is ridiculous.

This is entirely too cute…a little preschooler recounting the story of Star Wars…sippy cup in hand. I think this may be better than all three new Star Wars movies combined.

ZOMG…this video is fucking awesome.  Stop action GI Joes remaking the thing to pretty cool electronic music.  If ever there was such a thing, THIS is nerd porn.  I got chills. It combines: GI Joes…The Thing (one of the creepiest horror flicks ever made)…and electronic music.  Ok the Last one isn’t really a nerd thing per se, but if you’re gonna argue semantics with me instead of watch it you’re a dick.  Just watch the video.

Squirrels are amazingly intelligent little rodents. This one navigates a very complicated obstacle course like it’s nothing.

Here are two great videos where puppets do Pulp Fiction

The first one up is Greg the Bunny’s IFC Film short Dead Puppet Storage (from Greg the Bunny – Best of the Film Parodies). This is perhaps the greatest puppet short ever created by man…I challenge anyone to give me a better one.

This is a great video.  Muppets substitute for the stars of Pulp Fiction.  It’s not as good as Greg the Bunny, but it’s still awesome.

What would you do during a zombie apocalypse? Well now you get a chance to see just what you’d do when faced with some tough decisions. In The Outbreak you find yourself in a group of 5 survivors trying to escape the oncoming zombie horde with little more than a double barrel shotgun and a spastic colon…ok I made that last one up.  You are allowed to choose the way in which you will die, or survive depending on the wisdom of your decisions.  It’s also some good training for the day when the zombies actually do descend like locusts…and I know they will. If you make all the right choices you’ll live to fight another day…otherwise you’re zombie poo.  It’s a really cool interactive movie that lasts approximately 15 minutes (mostly due to all the dying and retrying) with a neat decision tree.  While it’s not the best movie ever it is a very interesting approach to movie making.  I highly recommend you give it a whirl.  Click on the link above or the picture below to try it out an ddon’t forget to check their site out on MySpace.com – http://www.myspace.com/survivetheoutbreak.

It’s not really a straight copy of Star Wars but the Turkish movie Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam (The Man Who Saves the World) released in ’82 rips off a bunch of western movies…the soundtrack is predominately Indiana Jones and Star Wars music. It’s hard to explain what the movie is actually about but it’s spectacularly bad. It’s part Star Wars, part kung-fu movie, all bad. You have to check this out.

This Star Wars rap called Fette’s Vette is awesome…it’s in a particularly funny part of the newest Kevin Smith movie Zack and Miri Make a Porno which is really good. If you haven’t checked it out yet you should. Check out the soundtrack too.

The trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming movie “Inglorious Basterds” is out…Finally an explanation of why Brad Pitt has that stupid mustache in all those tabloids in the grocery store line…I can’t wait to see this one.
